A Day on Venus Is Longer Than Its Year

Venus takes about 243 Earth days to spin once, but only about 225 Earth days to go around the Sun.
Venus turns extremely slowly, and backward compared with most planets. The result is a world where one full rotation outlasts a full lap of the Sun. The sunrise-to-sunrise day works out differently, about 117 Earth days, because the orbit and spin combine, so the headline fact refers to one rotation against the stars.
