Mammoths Outlived the First Pyramids

Woolly mammoths were still alive on a remote Arctic island after the Great Pyramid was built.
Most mammoths died out thousands of years earlier, but a small group survived on Wrangel Island off Siberia until about 4,000 years ago. The Great Pyramid at Giza dates to around 2560 BCE, roughly 4,500 years ago.
